Eyewitness to an E.T.?

Here we go again...

"I, Clark C. McClelland, former ScO, Space Shuttle Fleet, personally observed an 8 to 9 foot tall ET on his 27 inch video monitors while on duty in the Kennedy Space Center, Launch Control Center (LCC). The ET was standing upright in the Space Shuttle Payload Bay having a discussion with TWO tethered US NASA Astronauts! I also observed on my monitors, the spacecraft of the ET as it was in a stabilized, safe orbit to the rear of the Space Shuttle main engine pods."
Here is the source for the quote.

I don't think this guy is playing with a full deck but maybe he's being truthful as far as he knows it. I just don't think something like this can be kept a secret for so many years.

UFO Crash in Nevada?

This incident was first reported by Linda Moulton Howe on her website, Earthfiles.

This story from a TV station in Las Vegas has some additional details.
Fortean Quote

Edgar Mitchell is a Liar

Liar, liar, pants on fire.

"In 1971, Edgar became the sixth person to walk on the moon. Now 68, he works as a consultant on the hugely popular science-fiction TV series The X Files."

And now he's changing his story....

Turns out he's just a shill for the new X Files movie.

What a loser.

Science not always at the cutting edge

Prior to 1794 most scientists followed the accepted wisdom that "rocks don't just fall out of the sky." After all, wouldn't that be a violation of common sense and the laws of physics?

"They brushed off meteorite reports as wild tales from superstitious and uneducated peasants."

In June of 1794 more than 200 meteorites fell from the sky onto the farmlands of Siena, Italy, a university town north of Rome. There were enough witnesses to make scientists finally take note. At first the stones from the sky were explained away by the local scientists as condensations from igneous clouds or from volcanic ash from Mt. Vesuvius.

Finally, after careful study, the stones were found to be unlike any rocks on Earth and were truly from outer space.

"Late 20th-century research revealed that some meteorites preserve matter from 4.5 billion years ago, when dust grains first began to stick together and form the planets of our solar system. Other meteorites hold even older mineral grains that originated from star systems that were in existence before our sun formed."

Conclusion: sometimes wild tales from superstitious and uneducated peasants are true. So the next time you hear about weird UFO reports just think of this little story.

The Butthead Astronomer

Three reasons why I disliked Carl Sagan

1. His stupid, alarmist prediction of a nuclear winter and mass starvation in 1991 after Saddam Hussein set oil wells afire in Kuwait. Al Gore picked up the torch of wild-eyed speculation after Sagan died.

2. His petty lawsuit against Apple Computer which ended with egg on his face. The suit was indicative of a mean, elitist attitude. Especially humiliating was Apple's use of BHA and LAW during a second lawsuit (see link below).

3. The following quote which is condescending and trivial..."The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by 'God' one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity."

Our Reality

Although I tend to believe in Sitchin's contention that we were created as mere servants for less than noble intentions, this story does have some interesting points to make. The author is always thought provoking.
So who's Lying?

Former NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission - has stunningly claimed aliens exist.

In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.

So who's lying?

My Strange Experience #10

When I was about 25 years old I was taking college courses and working a part-time job. I was living in a real dump. Whenever I started the oven to heat up a TV dinner or a frozen pizza large snails would come out from underneath the oven. After the oven cooled down the snails would return to their hideaway. The windows had no curtains and I cut up some sheets to drape over the windows. It was a duplex apartment but no one lived in the other apartment at the time.

I awoke one night about 3 AM lying on my right side with my face to the wall. I was wide awake. Normally I awaken very slowly, feeling groggy for an hour or more. I also hardly ever wake up during the middle of the night. So here I was - wide awake at 3 in the morning. I felt a presence in the room, as if someone was standing directly behind me. I tried to turn my head but I could not move it. I then tried to roll over onto my back but couldn't. I felt like I was frozen except for my eyes. I remember moving my eyes as far to the side as I could so as to see who was in my room. I remember hearing a strange kind of music, something like cymbals and violins. It was something like Christmas music as far as I can remember. It was very beautiful and soothing. Finally, the music stopped and I felt a great release flow through me. I rolled over onto my back and nothing was there. It was silent. I got up and looked out a window. I even went outside and walked around outside. Nothing was there.

Is Bigfoot an Alien?

My niece lives about 15 miles outside of Conroe, Texas in a subdivision that is nestled into the edge of the Sam Houston National Forest. Now if you've ever been to that area you'll know the the word "forest" doesn't really apply since it's actually a "thicket." Yes, there are huge towering trees as in most forests but there are also a bewildering array of smaller trees, vines, weeds, shrubs, ivy, and plants.

There are probably still some areas of the forest that no man has ever seen, and this is only an hour's drive north of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city.

She tells me that they have often heard the screaming and hooting that is associated with bigfoot. She has listened to the sounds that are on bigfoot sites and has stated that they are similar to what she has heard while sitting on the back porch late at night. But she has never seen or heard anything that we would associate with UFO's.

So naturally this article from the American Chronicle caught my eye.
"The Sasquatch has many commonalities with Extraterrestrials. Both Sasquatch and Extraterrestrials are unlike anything we have ever known. Most descriptions of Extraterrestrials differ from anything residing on Earth, anything from 3 to 5 foot Grays with large heads and slim bodies to Reptilians that walk upright on two legs. Video of a Bigfoot-like creature was captured in Bluff Creek, California on October 20, 1967 by Roger Patterson. This video showed a creature standing more than 7 feet tall covered in dark brown fur, displaying female breasts and signs of previous injuries and damage at different points of its body, including what seems to be a torn right thigh muscle."
And then there's this cute little comment near the end of the article...

"With both anomalies, Extraterrestrials and the Sasquatch appearing at the same location in much the same manner, a direct connection between the two is naturally and allowably assumed. Is Sasquatch also an alien entity, an Extraterrestrial? Is it considered wildlife from another planet or dimension? Is it a "pet" of Extraterrestrials, being "let out to exercise", much the same way Humans allow their pet dogs and cats out at night?"
Gracious!

UFO Reports

"By denying the reality of the reports, brushing aside the witnesses (including trained observers like pilots or military personnel) and treating them like fools or crooks, the academic skeptics are actually teaching the public that science is impotent at studying the phenomenon. As the belief in the reality of UFOs grows among the population along with the evidence that a real phenomenon exists, people naturally tend to turn away from science in their search for answers, and that is a very dangerous trend."

Grossly Exaggerated

The studies continue to mount: Global warming is likely to blame for producing more powerful hurricanes and endangering the earth's ecosystems.

Nonsense, William Gray said Tuesday.

"There's been so much hype," the Colorado State University storm prognosticator said. "But I don't think there's a real problem. I think global warming has been grossly exaggerated."

Abduction

"Many abduction experiences are unequivocally spiritual, which involves some sort of powerful encounter with, or immersion in, divine light . . . The alien beings, although resented for their intrusive activities, may also be seen as intermediaries, closer than we are to God or the source of being. Sometimes . . . they may even be seen as angels or analogous to God. A number of abductees with whom I have worked experience at certain points an openingup to the source of being in the cosmos."

Now can you believe it?

More information on the Stephenville, Texas sightings....

"Federal Aviation Administration radar appears to confirm the presence of unidentified aircraft on Jan. 8 over the Stephenville-Dublin area, with at least one appearing to head toward President Bush’s Crawford Ranch, the same night that dozens of people reported seeing UFOs, according to a report released Thursday by a national group that studies reports of unidentified flying objects."
My Strange Experience #9

Years ago, I was stationed outside of Paris, France at the headquarters for U.S. forces in Europe. Three friends and I decided to drive to Le Mans in my Volkswagen beetle to see the famous 24 hour endurance race. The drive normally takes about two hours but we took about 9 hours because we stopped in almost every town to have a glass of wine and savor the ambience. We arrived in Le Mans about 4 or 5 in the afternoon. By that time I was very drunk and should not have been driving. A car making a left turn in front of us suddenly stopped and I swerved to the right to miss the car. But I managed to hit the right rear fender of the car and then came to a stop. While waiting for the police to arrive I began to feel light-headed and laid down across the front seats of my Volkswagen. The next thing I knew, I awoke the next morning in the hospital. My three friends arrived soon after and I was released by a doctor. We left the hospital and went to watch the race. Several months later I recalled an incident during my hospitalization. I remembered waking up sometime during the night (it had to be night because it was so quiet) and I was lying on a table. It was very cold and I was naked. I also had an erection. I remember looking around and thought I saw some movement directly behind me. I raised myself slightly to get a better look but no one was there. The walls were bare and I cannot even recall seeing a doorway. One question that continues to nag at me...why would a hospital have a naked patient lying on a table in a cold, bare room in the middle of the night?

"A Tampa International Airport spokeswoman initially blamed the dent on a bird, but Bergen said the crew reported the bang while flying at 18,000 feet -- an altitude too high for a bird." Source

Explanation for UFO's

Take a look at this video.

I wonder if someone viewing these birds at night - under scattering light conditions from the moon and/or city lights - would mistakenly consider them to be UFO's?

From a distance the birds would seem to be making many of the classic maneuvers that UFO's are known for.

Czech crop circles

These photos of crop circles look kind of lame to me.....
Letter to John Adams

I hold (without appeal to revelation) that when we take a view of the Universe, in its parts general or particular, it is impossible for the human mind not to perceive and feel a conviction of design, consummate skill, and indefinite power in every atom of its composition.

The movements of the heavenly bodies, so exactly held in their course by the balance of centrifugal and centripetal forces, the structure of our earth itself, with its distribution of lands, waters and atmosphere, animal and vegetable bodies, examined in all their minutest particles, insects mere atoms of life, yet as perfectly organised as man or mammoth, the mineral substances, their generation and uses, it is impossible, I say, for the human mind not to believe that there is, in all this, design, cause and effect, up to an ultimate cause, a fabricator of all things from matter and motion, their preserver and regulator while permitted to exist in their present forms, and their regenerator into new and other forms.

Computer Simulation?

Some say our reality is only a computer simulation. See the movie "The Matrix" for a look at how some people perceive our existence. You might say it's Alice in Wonderland for adults. To them, we are simply pawns in some kind of weird simulated reality that has placed humanity in a bleak state of mindless slavery.

Others postulate that our overlords are some kind of reptilian creatures who have us under their thumb. And that our future is more or less predetermined.

But I believe Occam's Razor applies here. Our reality is a contest between good and evil, just as the Bible says.

And Dr. Henry Makow has said it best....

"God and Satan made a wager for the soul of man. If God wins, man revels in the glory of his Divine Birthright. If Satan wins, man is destroyed. In a nutshell, this is the religious nature of politics."

Science and their Method and their Hubris

The study of UFO's is usually dismissed by people as being unworthy of science and not provable by the scientific method. What they don't mention is that science sometimes exposes its hubris and breaks its own rules. Yes, it sometimes shreds any semblance of reason and methodity. James Hansen seems to be one of those guys, as this story illustrates.

His biography on Wikipedia is here
