Kenneth Arnold Interview

I'm not a big fan of interviews because they tend to rehash old news but this one is very interesting. The drawing of the UFO that Kenneth Arnold saw is rather unusual and is not common in the thousands of other UFO reports since then. It looks more like something Batman would use to fly around.

I'm Jealous

I wish that I had written this...

Best quote, "You and your feature writers have helped ridicule it. It’s easier to write a funny story. And once the Air Force tells you there’s nothing to it, what is more logical than to say ‘People see things; there are a lot of nuts around the country’? And that has led to the net effect that very few of these are reported."

UFO Photos

1870 through the Present...

I would estimate that 90% are fakes or film defects.

Reality

Carl Sagan was not a favorite of mine. See this post for some of my reasons.

A friend recently emailed me a quote by Sagan..."It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring."

Add this quote to the reasons I'm not a fan of his. He presumes to know what reality really is (without telling us) and then presumes that we persist in delusion because we don't know exactly what he is referring to. Got it?

Down here in Texas there is an old expression. "All hat, no horse."

Carl Sagan wore a big hat but had no horse. His novel that lead to the movie Contact was a big letdown. In the movie we witness enormous amounts of time and money expended to send Jodie Foster into the cosmos only to be told "You are not ready for the truth." Like I said, big letdown.

Einstein and his mistakes

I don't know one way or another but the hint of sour grapes comes to mind when reading this story. Even his mistakes are beyond 99.99% of the population's comprehension. Hey, nobody's perfect. Everyone is allowed a few mistakes every once in awhile. I'm sure he meant well. The universe is a better place just for him being here. Rest in peace, Albert.

Sad but true

Everything is broken

"We’ve become a society of sound bites," says Powell from his home in Austin. "The media isn’t really interested in this story unless you’ve got people talking about what they saw in the sky and waving their hands around. If you’re just dealing with pure numbers and dry facts, you may as well forget it. I guess the best weapon to use against it (the MUFON report) is to ignore it."

Odd

Isn't it odd that absolutely no Cult member has ever been arrested or convicted of mutilating cattle, horses, dogs, cats, or any other animal...even though cultists are invariably blamed for such crimes?

Some so-called ufologists blame cultists or insurance scam artists for mutilations. And so we should assume that someone, somewhere, somehow would have been arrested and convicted by now, wouldn't we?

Still other ufologists blame predators for mutilations. However, no ufologist has ever explained how predators make such precise cuts no have they explained the absence of blood that usually occur during mutilations.
