So where are UFO's hiding?
Perhaps in Iceland.

Carl Sagan
I really never liked this guy. He was rather cloying and full of condescention, in my opinion. His appearances on the Johnny Carson show always left me feeling cold.
I've posted several times on Sagan. See here and here.
But he wasn't 100% bad. I do like this quote...
"Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere."

Computer Simulation
Even Rush Limbaugh thinks we're in a simulation....
"We're all in a giant sitcom. God is writing it, and we're going to be laughing our way through the Obama-Reid-Pelosi depression."

Alien Contact
A lot of stories lately are floating around the internet concerning the future when aliens finally make contact with us. I'm sure you've seen them too. But, trust me, it's all speculation. I don't believe we will ever be contacted. We are some kind of experiment. Genetic is my guess. And if it does not go as they hope, the aliens will simply start culling the garden, you know, like pulling the weeds.
Conclusion: don't be a weed.

Odd, odd, odd
It looks like some kind of natural phenomenom to me. But just exactly what is anybody's guess. Whatever it is it's certainly bizarre.
Two great videos here.

Kenneth Arnold Interview
I'm not a big fan of interviews because they tend to rehash old news but this one is very interesting. The drawing of the UFO that Kenneth Arnold saw is rather unusual and is not common in the thousands of other UFO reports since then. It looks more like something Batman would use to fly around.

I'm Jealous
I wish that I had written this...
Best quote, "You and your feature writers have helped ridicule it. It’s easier to write a funny story. And once the Air Force tells you there’s nothing to it, what is more logical than to say ‘People see things; there are a lot of nuts around the country’? And that has led to the net effect that very few of these are reported."

Reality
Carl Sagan was not a favorite of mine. See this post for some of my reasons.
A friend recently emailed me a quote by Sagan..."It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring."
Add this quote to the reasons I'm not a fan of his. He presumes to know what reality really is (without telling us) and then presumes that we persist in delusion because we don't know exactly what he is referring to. Got it?
Down here in Texas there is an old expression. "All hat, no horse."
Carl Sagan wore a big hat but had no horse. His novel that lead to the movie Contact was a big letdown. In the movie we witness enormous amounts of time and money expended to send Jodie Foster into the cosmos only to be told "You are not ready for the truth." Like I said, big letdown.

Einstein and his mistakes
I don't know one way or another but the hint of sour grapes comes to mind when reading this story. Even his mistakes are beyond 99.99% of the population's comprehension. Hey, nobody's perfect. Everyone is allowed a few mistakes every once in awhile. I'm sure he meant well. The universe is a better place just for him being here. Rest in peace, Albert.

Sad but true
Everything is broken
"We’ve become a society of sound bites," says Powell from his home in Austin. "The media isn’t really interested in this story unless you’ve got people talking about what they saw in the sky and waving their hands around. If you’re just dealing with pure numbers and dry facts, you may as well forget it. I guess the best weapon to use against it (the MUFON report) is to ignore it."

Odd
Isn't it odd that absolutely no Cult member has ever been arrested or convicted of mutilating cattle, horses, dogs, cats, or any other animal...even though cultists are invariably blamed for such crimes?
Some so-called ufologists blame cultists or insurance scam artists for mutilations. And so we should assume that someone, somewhere, somehow would have been arrested and convicted by now, wouldn't we?
Still other ufologists blame predators for mutilations. However, no ufologist has ever explained how predators make such precise cuts no have they explained the absence of blood that usually occur during mutilations.

My Strange Experience #14
I was 31 years old and lying on the couch watching the Dallas Cowboys play the Washington Redskins on a Sunday afternoon. I was on my left side with my head resting in the left hand. Suddenly it felt as if someone jumped on me with considerable force directly below the bottom right rib. Jeez, I nearly passed out from the pain. I had to watch the rest of the game on my stomach because I could not breathe comfortably in any other position. I was also only able to sleep that night by lying on my stomach. Monday morning I went directly to a doctor's office. He poked me a few times and then had X-rays done. Spontaneous pneumothorax, he said. Collapsed Lung. I told him it felt like someone had jumped on me. With a smile and a shrug he said it happens occasionally but is rather rare.

Mysterious UFO caught on Video
The video in this news report is fairly good compared to most. The skeptics won't be able to call it Venus, swamp gas, or the multitude of other lame excuses they usually bring up.
The guy shooting the video had some problems with focusing (don't they have automatic focus on cameras nowadays?) but overall it is a winner. My first thought was a tethered balloon of some sort but who really knows?
And then there is this amazing video that also resembles a balloon.

But I could be Wrong
This video has absolutely nothing to do with UFO's or the paranormal. Or does it?
If we are merely creatures of a computer simulation, wouldn't we be inundated with trashy visuals day after day? And wouldn't you eventually get sick of it over time? Wouldn't we be dumbed down enough to actually think we have a culture worth saving? Wouldn't we be seduced into believeing that celebrity, drugs, sports, and sex are the ultimate human attributes?
But, what the hell, boys and girls, I could be wrong.

Humans
"Human beings appear to be a slave race breeding on an isolated planet in a small galaxy. As such, the human race was once a source of labor for an extraterrestrial civilization and still remains a possession today. To keep control over its possession and to maintain Earth as something of a prison, that other civilization has bred never-ending conflict between human beings, has promoted human spiritual decay, and has erected on Earth conditions of unremitting physical hardship. This situation has existed for thousands of years and it continues today."
-- Quote by Charles Fort, The Book of the Damned, 1919

My Strange Experience #13
When I was about 13 years old, my 11 year old brother and I were lying in the grass one evening about 9 pm looking up at the stars and talking. Our feet were facing towards the south. No moon was visible and there was no wind at all. Three circular lights with dark centers in a triangular formation passed directly overhead going from the south to north. There was absolutely no sound - no sound at all. A slight breeze came from the south a few seconds after the lights had passed over our heads. The circles of light were each about the size of a dime held at arm's length.

Stop and say Hello
I used to work with a guy who constantly made fun of my beliefs. He lived about 14 miles out of town on his father's small cattle ranch. Whenever discussion turned to UFO's and the paranormal he would ridicule everybody who actually admitted that perhaps there was something to it.
One day he asked in a mocking voice, "Well why don't they ever stop and say hello?"
And I snapped back, "How many times have you stopped to say hello to all the cows you drive past every day?"
I admit that it was not the greatest comeback of all time but it did put a halt to his ridicule. He actually seemed to listen more intently to the stories by everyone at work after that. And he admitted later that his father had had some freaky experiences as well.

Bigfoot
I never thought I'd see the day come when a bigfoot story would take precedence over most run-of-the-mill UFO stories. But today it did. Pictures of a dead bigfoot (supposedly) can be seen here.
But beware of any claims by Tom Biscardi because he's just an attention whore and does not have much credibility. But I'll be the first to congratulate him if his claim is true.
And if you're really interested two of the most reputable bigfoot websites are here and here.

My Strange Experience #12
During a period of about 5 years, I noticed upon awakening in the morning that the blanket I was sleeping under had been neatly folded back, leaving me sleeping under a sheet only. I can recall many times waking up early in the morning being cold and having to pull the blanket back over me. There was no pattern to these events, but it seemed to happen three or four times a year for about 5 years in total. It has not happened in the last fifteen years however. Perhaps there is a certain age when we humans are no longer considered interesting?
